Our History

Robsons

The firm was established in 1919 by its founder Roderick Robson. Roderick practiced on his own until after the 2nd World War, when he formed a partnership with his nephew Ian Lindsay Robson (a returned serviceman).

The firm was then named R & I.L. Robson. The office moved to Ingestre Street from Maria Place in 1968, the year of the Wahine Disaster. In that same year two more partners were introduced into the partnership – Ernest Jack Lloyd and Graham Douglas Robson. In 1969 Ian Robson died, and later in 1971 Charles Edward (Lex) Moodie joined the firm as a partner.

The Practice name was then changed to Robson & Partners. Roderick, who at the time was semi-retired, fully retired in 1988. The following year Jack Lloyd became a consultant, until he passed away in 1992, leaving Graham Robson and Lex Moodie to carry on the partnership.

Roderick Robson, the founder of the firm, died in 1991 at the age of 97. Graham Robson retired from the practice on 31st March 2004, but still works today as a consultant.

The name changed again on 1st February 2004, this time to Robson & Partner Ltd.

Lex Moodie, who still remains as a consultant, retired from the firm on the 31st March 2005.
